Álvaro Aragoneses

Álvaro J. Aragoneses received the joint degree in Computer Science from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2014 and the M.S. degree in Web Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2015. Since 2014, he is working at Grupo de Tratamiento de Imagenes as a Software Engineer, focus on the areas of Adaptive Streaming and 3D Image Transmission over RTP encapsulate with X264 encoding.

Esther Madejón

Ingeniero Técnico de Telecomunicación (Sonido e Imagen)  

 

Esther Madejón received the Ingeniero Técnico de Telecomunicación degree in 2009 from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain. Since 2008 she has been member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (Image Processing Group) of the UPM. She manages the Dem-3DTV of GTI, an innovation, experimentation and co-creation environment, where researchers, companies, standardization bodies and public institutions work together, searching for new solutions, products or services, involving real users in all the research process, promoting cooperation.

Fernando Jaureguizar

Dr. Ingeniero de Telecomunicación

Fernando Jaureguizar received the Telecommunication Engineering degree (six-years engineering program) and the Ph.D. in Telecommunication, both from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in 1987 and 1994, respectively.

Since 1987 he is a member of the Image Processing Group (GTI) of the UPM. He was a Ph.D. scholar of the Information Technology and Telecommunication Programs of the Spanish National Research Plan from 1988 till 1991. In addition, since 1991 he is a member of the faculty of the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación at UPM, and since 1995 he is an Associate Professor of Signal Theory and Communications at the Department of Signals, Systems, and Communications.

He is currently the Head of the Department of Signals, Systems, and Communications, and the Head of the Dem-3DTV Experience Lab.

His professional interests include digital image processing, video coding, 3DTV, computer vision, and design and development of multimedia communications systems. He has been actively involved in European projects (Eureka, ACTS and IST) and national projects in Spain.

Narciso García

Dr. Ingeniero de Telecomunicación

 

Narciso García received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (five-year engineering program) in 1976 (Spanish National Graduation Award) and the Doctor Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (Ph.D. in communications) in 1983 (Doctoral Graduation Award), both from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain.

Since 1977, he has been a member of the faculty of the UPM, where he is currently a Professor of Signal Theory and Communications. He leads the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (Image Processing Group) of the UPM. He has been actively involved in Spanish and European research projects, serving also as evaluator, reviewer, auditor, and observer of several research and development programs of the European Union. He was a co-writer of the EBU proposal, base of the ITU standard for digital transmission of TV at 34–45 Mb/s (ITU-T J.81). He was the area coordinator of the Spanish Evaluation Agency (ANEP) from 1990 to 1992.

He has been the general coordinator of the Spanish Commission for the Evaluation of the Research Activity (CNEAI) since 2011. He received the Junior and Senior Research Awards of the UPM in 1987 and 1994, respectively. His professional and research interests are in the areas of digital image and video compression and of computer vision.

Tomás Mantecón

Ingeniero de Telecomunicación    

                             

Tomás Mantecón received the Telecommunication Engineering degree (five-year engineering program) in 2012 from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain. He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree at the same University. Since 2013, he has been a member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (Image Processing Group) of the UPM. His current research interests include the areas of video analysis and processing.
