Raquel Dueñas  

Grado en Ingeniería de Tecnologías y Servicios de Telecomunicación     

Raquel Dueñas received the Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunication Technologies and Services (intensification in Sound and Image) in 2018 and currently she is studying the Master in Signal Theory and Communications (Track on Signal Processing and Machine Learning for Big Data), both from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain. She has been a member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (Image Processing Group) at the UPM since 2018. Her current research is in the area of video analysis and processing, deep learning.

Luis Salgado

Luis Salgado received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (six years engineering program) with honors in 1990, and the PhD in Communications with “Summa Cum Laude” in 1998, both from the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (ETSIT) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). From 1990 he has been member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes (GTI) of the UPM, where he was a Ph.D. scholar of the Spanish National Research Plan from 1991 to 1994. Besides working as Research Assistant at the GTI in the computer vision and video coding research fields, from 1995 to 1996 he was Assistant Professor at the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares (Department of Automation). Since 1996, he has been a member of the faculty at ETSIT-UPM (Signals, Systems and Radiocommunications Department), from 1996 till 1999 as Teaching Assistant, and Associate Professor (tenure in 2001) in the field of telecommunication technologies. He is Full Professor in the Area of Signal Processing and Communications, and since 2016 a member of the UPM Information Processing and Telecommunication Center. 

From 2002 till 2007 he has been Responsible and Coordinator for Doctoral Studies at the Signals, Systems and Radiocommunications Department of the ETSIT-UPM. From September 2012 to August 2014 he joined Universidad Autónoma de Madrid as Associate Professor at the Escuela Politécnica Superior (Electronics and Communications Technology Department). From September 2014 he is Profesor Honorario at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Together with his academic and research responsibilities, he was the Vice-dean for Student Affairs and International Relations from July 2015 to February 2017, and from February 2017 he is the Vice-dean for International Relations and Corporate Partnership at ETSIT-UPM.

His professional and research interests and areas of expertise include: image and video processing and coding; computer vision for surveillance, vehicle environment analysis and ADAS, traffic monitoring and RGB+D contents analysis; graphics and multimedia applications for e-learning and culture; digital and 3D television. He is deeply involved in both Spanish national and European funded research projects, and his research has produced more than 130 publications in international journals and conferences. He is Associate Editor of the Springer Journal of Real Time Image Processing and Technical Program Committee of several International Conferences.

His teaching activities in undergraduate courses cover the following topics: Operating Systems, Circuits Analysis, Telecommunications Systems, Transmission Systems, Video technologies, Digital Television, 3DTV. In postgraduate courses, he is teaching, Multimedia Systems and Services, Digital Video Processing & Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Computer Graphics.

Additionally, he has been actively involved since 2000 in Spanish National Projects Evaluation, and from 2001 collaborates as independent expert with the European Commission acting as project auditor and reviewer.

  

 
 
 
 

Carlos Cortés  

Ingeniero de Sistemas Electrónicos     

Carlos Cortés received the Ingeniero de Sistemas Electrónicos degree in 2017 (Degree Graduation Award) from the Universidad de Málaga, Málaga, Spain, and the Ingeniero de Sistemas Electrónicos Master degree in 2018 from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Madrid, Spain. Since 2018 he has been a member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes of the UPM. His research interests include immersive environments, virtual reality, mixed reality, 360º video and deep learning.

Antonio Fernández  

Graduado en Ingeniería de Tecnologías y Servicios de Telecomunicación     

Antonio Fernández received the Qualified Film Director Diploma from the Instituto del Cine Madrid in 2012. Since 2018, he teaches at the Master Propio en Dirección de Fotografía y Cámara para Cinematografía y Nuevos Medios, from the Centro Universitario de Artes TAI, (Madrid, Spain) while he finishes the Grado en Ingeniería de Tecnologías y Servicios de Telecomunicación, from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). In 2017, he joined the UPM's Image Processing Group (GTI), and is currently involved in the development of a 5G Set Top Box for Over-The-Top Adaptive Bit Rate streaming services.

Adrián Tomé  

Ingeniero de Telecomunicación      

Adrián Tomé received the Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunication Technologies and Services from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, in 2014. In 2016, he obtained the international Master degree in Image Processing and Computer Vision (IPCV) imparted by Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Hungary) and University of Bordeaux (France). Since then, he is member of the Grupo Tratamiento de Imágenes (GTI) at UPM. Its current research interest is the detection of anomalies in videosurveillance scenarios under the national project BEGISE, while pursuing the Ph.D degree.
