National Research Projects

Title: Adding depth-perception to visual communications (Enhanced 3DTV - TEC2010-20412).
Description: The project aims to support the advancement of the technologies used in image and video processing to analyze and compress three-dimensional information, proposing new algorithms that help in the areas of acquisition, characterization, compression, distribution and display of audiovisual materials that provide deep perception.

Title: Sistema de Distribución de Contenidos y Publicidad Personalizada sobre IP (Contentiplicer - TSI-090100-2011-19).
Description: The main purpose of this project is the design and implementation of a multisupport platform for video streaming over IP and using the "IP SLICE STREAM" technology. This platform will include a system to recommend contents and commercials taking into account the type of content consumed by the users, their profile, and their geolocalization.

Title: Sistema Avanzado de gestión de calidad multiservicio IPTVG (Savage - IPT-2011-1347-430000).
Description: The main objective of the project is the design and development of an advanced system (able to work automatically and remotely) to obtain information on the quality of user experience.

Title: Convergencia de Wimax, IMS y SATélite (Wimsat - TSI-020100-2010-13).
Description: The key technological objective is the development of satellite access networks and WiMAX to the paradigm of next generation networks and the implementation of a prototype platform for the provision of advanced communications services based on IMS. This project aims to respond to the international demand for solutions to this evolution to next generation networks, positioning the Spanish industry in a strategic and increasing competitive position in the aerospace sector and the provision of multimedia services.

Title: Tecnologías para la creación y gestión automatizada de contenidos audiovisuales inteligentes (i3media - CENIT).
Description: i3media is based on technologies for automated creation and management of intelligent audiovisual contents. His philosophy is based on the idea that to compete in the audiovisual market you need the best technologies for the production, management, distribution and exploitation of content. In order to generate new technologies that offer development opportunities to companies in the consortium, i3media focuses on intelligent content, customization and automated processes.

Title: Procesamiento de entornos mediante información visual contextualizada: análisis de entornos complejos mediante cámaras inteligentes en red (SMART VISION - TEC2007-67764).
Description: The aim of this project was to enhance the basic technologies and the aspects involved in computer vision systems based on multiple cameras. Several contributions were made in different areas: image and video analysis, recovery of 3D information from images, descriptions of 3D environments, and management and communication of smart cameras.

Title: Herramientas de catalogación y búsqueda federada para la biblioteca 2.0 de contenidos musicales digitales (CANTIGA - FIT-350201-2007-8).
Description: The project investigates how Web 2.0 technologies can be applied to the cataloging and searching for music archival resources. The project proposes the development of a platform for cataloging and searching of digital content, installed on each user entity (musical institution), which provides facilities to interact with both internal and external systems. Moreover, the system also allows the realization of federated searches across all institutions.

Title: Detección Automática de Interacción por Movimiento (DAIMOV - P100935567).
Description: Its aim was to develop an automatic intrusion detection system, by means of real-time background subtraction techniques.

Title: Procesamiento Multimedia Distribuido (Pro-Multidis-CM - S0505/0223).
Description: This project was designed to develop new procedures for advanced telecommunications through the use of intelligence for multimedia coding, design and manage ad hoc networks, and generate useful products for other areas of IT technologies.

Title: Caracterización semántica, indexación y acceso personalizado universal a contenidos audiovisuales controlados (MEDUSA - TIN-2004-07860).
Description: The objective of this project was to investigate the design of advanced computer vision algorithms and develop tools aimed at the automatic subtraction of features of image sequences in restricted environments.
