 José I. Ronda received the Telecommunication Engineering degree and the Ph.D. in Telecommunication from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, in 1988 and 1994, respectively.

Since 1988, he has been a member of the Image Processing Group at UPM.

In 1992, he joined the faculty of UPM, and since 1995 he has been Associate Professor of Signal Theory and Communications in the Department of Signals, Systems, and Communications.
