The Association of Technical Telecommunication Engineers awards a final degree project of the ETSIT

Juan Cañada Carril, researcher of the Grupo de Tratamiento de imágenes (GTI), wins the second prize in the category of Image and Sound Engineering for the design of a system to aid in the diagnosis of lung cancer.

The Future of Telecommunications Awards, with which the Official Association of Graduates and Technical Telecommunications Engineers (COITT) recognises the quality of final degree projects, already have their winners this year. The second prize in the Image and Sound Engineering category went to Juan Cañada Carril, a student and researcher in the Image Processing Group at the School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSIT) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His work is entitled "Design and implementation of a system to aid the diagnosis of lung cancer on histological images based on deep learning techniques".
