Pozalagua cave in S3D

On 25th July, Agueda Simó, a multimedia artist who investigates the interaction between art and science using new technologies (from the University of Beira Interior, Portugal), finished her footage about the Pozalagua Cave in the Living Lab Dem-3DTV of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes located in the Support Center for Technological Innovation (CAIT-UPM) in the International Campus of Excellence of Montegancedo.

Agueda used the SGO’s Mistika 2K system available in the Living Lab for the editing, compositing, colour grading and finishing of Stereo 3D content shot by her from the Pozalagua Cave.

The Pozalagua Cave is located amid the peaks of Ranero, within the Nature Park of Armañon, in the municipality of Karrantza. The stalactites sprout at whim, taking on the strangest of shapes. The spectacle inside Pozalagua Cave is beyond comparison; unique in the world. The so-called "eccentric" stalactites seem to defy gravity and intertwine in every possible direction.

The video shows how, thanks to the stereoscopic techniques used both in shooting and finishing, the cave turns into a wonderfull cave, becoming a real immersive experience. You will be able to be transported there without leaving home.

Agueda Simó is a multimedia artist who investigates the interaction between art and science using new technologies. She started her artwork in the field of video, developing an aesthetics that led her to work with computer graphics, and afterwards on interactive installations and virtual reality.
