SEAW – DATASET

Description

The set of videos, Student Experiences Around the World dataset (SEAW-dataset) consists of three stereoscopic contents in 4K resolution at 30 fps and a duration of approximately five minutes each were acquired and prepared specifically for the experiment. The following Figure shows a screenshot of the source videos:

SEAWDataset1

The contents were encoded with HEVC switching to a different fixed Quantization Parameter (QP) each 25 seconds to create one Processed Video Sequence (PVS) per source content. The QPs selected for the experiment were: 15, 22, 27, 32, 37, and 42 [44]. These QPs were randomized along the video encoding, following Rec. ITU-R BT.500. The order of the QPs used during video encoding are presented below. SEAW-dataset contains the three PVSs.

• COFFEESHOP. Order of the QPs = 27,32,37, 42, 15, 22, 32, 42, 15, 27, 37, 22
• INTERNATIONALOFFICE. Order of the QPs = 37, 27, 22, 15, 32, 42, 37, 22, 27, 32, 15, 42, 22, 37
• STUDYINSPAIN. Order of the QPs = 27, 32, 15, 42, 22, 37,15, 27, 37, 42, 32, 22, 42, 37

Additionally, next Table summarizes the genre, perspective-taking, and a brief description of the contents used in the experiment. In contents with the actor acquisition perspective, student volunteers during the recording looked at the camera, and even waved their hands to increase the immersion of the participant of the experiment visualizing the 360-degree content with the HMD.
