 Dr. Carlos R. del Blanco (ORCID: 0000-0003-0618-3488) received the Telecommunication Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunication from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) in 2005 and 2011, respectively.

Since 2005 he has been a member of the GTI-UPM. Since 2021 he is Associate Professor of Signal Theory and Communications at the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación.

He is co-author of numerous international journal and conference papers, holds three patents, and has contributed to several open-access datasets. He received the IEEE Best Paper Award (2017) and co-won the ImageCLEF Lifelog Challenge (2018).

He has participated in more than 20 European and Spanish research projects and is currently Principal Investigator of a national R&D project. His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, signal and image processing, pattern recognition, and stochastic dynamic models.
